With temperatures starting to finally stay above 70 degrees after a long spring, the summer weather is just about here and it is here to stay! At this time of the year, a lot of women shift over from their cold weather clothes to their summer clothes. One of the dilemmas that we face when we do this is, what do we do about our long sleeve shirts? Pack them away behind our summer tops? The answer is, NO!
Here is why you should keep several of your favorite long sleeve shirts in a place you can quickly find them.
While we fondly remember every day of the summer to be filled with endless sunlight, there are days with some foul weather. All it takes is a few storm clouds to cover overhead and we find ourselves out in a chilly night. For these kinds of evenings, it is nice to have a thin long sleeve that won’t be too hot but won’t leave you shivering.
Cozy Nights Inside
Even though the weather outside may reach as high as the upper 80s and 90s, with air conditioning, we ultimately control the climate inside our homes. With husbands and kids that love the cool air, it can get a little cold for our liking. When you sit down to watch a movie with a blanket covering your legs and popcorn in your hands, a long sleeve shirt can be a very comfortable option.
Early Morning Walk
There may be some of you who loves early morning walks, but the temperatures as the sun passes above the top of our beautiful mountains are still a bit brisk. You might be leisurely walking or even speed walking for a bit of exercise, but a long sleeve shirt is perfect in these situations.
On a Lake
It doesn’t matter if you own a boat or not, there’s always a good chance that you will find yourself on one before the end of the summer. While we often associate boating with strong heat, sunscreen and refreshing lake water, we forget the cool air we feel when we either get back in the boat after a quick dip or when the boat produces a numbing windchill from its high speeds. For just about any situation on a boat, it’s not a bad idea to have an extra long sleeve shirt with you.
Basking in the sunlight during the summer is truly a rejuvenating feeling that we all love, but that doesn’t mean that the weather is always sweltering. Nor does it mean that we can’t wear long sleeve shirts. If you were to ask us, we’d suggest keeping a few out for the every now and then occasions.
